Jason and Brittany Aldean‘s baby girl has arrived, and she has a very unique name. The reason? Well, there are a few…
The Baby’s Name
As soon the world found out about Brittany’s second pregnancy, they couldn’t wait to know two things: the gender and the name. Already having named their firstborn son Memphis, fans were curious to see what the power-couple would come up with next.
Brittany announced she was having a baby girl with the sweetest video in early August of 2018. Soon thereafter, Brittany had the baby shower where she revealed the baby’s name; Navy Rome. While Navy isn’t a name you hear every day – that was exactly what the happy couple wanted.
Growing Up Common
Although being known as one of the biggest names in country music, Jason hasn’t always liked his name.
While talking with Sirius XM he admitted, “My name was so common growing up — there were always five ‘Jasons’ in my class, which I thought was so annoying…I just wanted [my kids] to have names that weren’t super weird, but were just different enough to where there’s not gonna be a ton of people with that name.”
No wonder Jason wants his kids to have a different experience!
So when the couple decided to name their little girl something different, they used a very unique strategy. Jason explained, “We both would kind of put names in a pile and she would say ‘What do you think about this?’ and I’d say ‘I don’t like that.'”
Still, like any good couple, they’ve found a way to compromise. Jason explained that while Memphis was almost named “Roman” they figured out a way to incorporate it into their new baby’s name.
Jason told Sirius XM, “Roman was one of the names she liked for Memphis, and I wasn’t into it, so she had the name Navy for this go ’round and I thought that was cool. She goes ‘You didn’t let me name Memphis ‘Roman,’ so can we name her Rome?'”
It sounds like these two have it all figured out!
