Carrie’s Secret To Fit, Toned Legs
Carrie Underwood is known for having incredibly toned legs, and fans have always wondered just how she does it. Luckily, she’s let people in on her secret.
Some time ago, Underwood posted a video to her Instagram showing her routine leg workout, which surprisingly doesn’t involve the use of any weights or heavy equipment. The only things Underwood uses to get those perfectly sculpted legs are two towels and a wood floor.
“If you’ve got towels and a smooth floor surface, you’ve got yourself a workout!” writes Underwood. “No need for tons of equipment or complicated moves.”
The towels that Underwood uses for her workouts come from her line of fitness apparel called CALIA by Carrie, which can be found at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Some of the other items in her collection include coats, socks, and leggings.
Underwood also attributes her toned legs to following a healthy diet and working hard at her workouts. But in the video she posted of her leg workout, she makes exercising look easy!
Encouraging Words About Exercise
But after having two babies, working out isn’t as simple as it used to be for Underwood. In an Instagram post made just two months after her second son, Jacob, was born, Underwood got real about how hard it had been for her to “bounce back” to her pre-pregnancy state of fitness.
“I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far,” she wrote. “I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again…for my body to feel the way that I know it can.”
Despite all that, Carrie said she was working to change her mindset to focus on what she can do, rather than what she can’t.

I’m going to be honest, “bouncing back” after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately. I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again…for my body to feel the way that I know it can. As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me. It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t. I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal. I’m going to keep staying the path because it is a journey and as long as I’m always working towards my goals, one day I’ll reach them. We’re sure that Underwood’s go-to towel exercise is an awesome way for her to work on getting back in shape as she works up the amount of weight she can lift and the number of reps she can do.
Plus, looking at the video of her towel workout, it looks like something that doesn’t take up a lot of time. As a mama of two young boys, she probably doesn’t have much free time on her hands!
